There
has been a life drawing class at Linden House taught
exclusively by the figurative painter John Luce Lockett
for several years now, but the time has come to expand
due to demand for instruction in drawing from many quarters.
The aims of the Northampton School of Drawing are simple
and straightforward even when some of the concepts involved
are not.
We aim to
enable :
-Those
that have not drawn before to see the world in the same
way as the artist does and as a consequence both be
able to draw themselves and appreciate more fully the
work of other artists.
- Those
that draw regularly,have drawn before or practice some
other art form to develop their own skills and knowledge
in drawing, anatomy and the understanding of their own
visual and practical techniques whilst building their
own individual style and aesthetic sense.
- Those
that are truly expert draughtsmen/women to stretch their
own boundaries, see new ways of expressing themselves
and develop their drawing both as great art in its own
right and as the necessary infra-structure for any other
field of the visual arts. |
